Wow this is new to me but he's the professional. I've always been given cervidil at least 6-8 hours before pitocin is started. Even when I was already 3cm dilated and 70% effaced with my last (which was my third pregnancy/vaginal delivery) . But every doctor has their own methods. Question it if you're that worriedI was induced with my first for IUGR and was really hoping to go into spontaneous labor with my second pregnancy.
