Mar 19, 2004 · I know it cannot be predictable but just curious about your experience. I am 35w3d with my second and I delivered at 37w5d for my first. At my last appointment, my doctor told me I am 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. She asked me to stop going to work and take it slow now and to pack my bags. Any….For my first I was 1cm and 70-% effaced from 38 to when my water broke at 39 wks. I labored for 24 hours and didn’t have any progress for MOST of that time. I progressed 2cm to 10cm in like two hours after sleeping when I got my epidural. So it just varies. This baby I was 1cm + 50% at 36 weeks.
