Joined. Jan 4, 2021. Messages. 4. I have tried staball 6.5 in my wife's Sav axis youth in 7mm-08. The accuacy wasn't anything to write home about but it was ok for a cheaper hunting rifle. I worked up loads with the 139 i-lock using the Winchester min to Max (51gr), I found 47 to 48 gr loads were printing 1moa groups.Joined. Aug 23, 2016. Messages. 2,705. Location. central pa. Apr 25, 2022 · 80. I've used 760 with 139-140's in a couple 7-08's. I recommend magnum primers with 760. I had one Sako A1 that would shoot less than an inch at 100 yards for five shot groups at 2825 fps with 140 BT's. That was 48.0 grs and flattened primers. My other favorite 7-08 powder is IMR-4350. And 6.5 bullets are a few bucks cheaper. Re: Thoughts on a 7mm-08 with 20" Barrel I have a 26" barrel but with 47.2G of H4350 loaded at 2.905" OAL I run the amax at 2780. I run the BTHP with the same powder charge at 2.870" OAL and get the same velocity.Sneads, Florida. Just wanted to see how many are using the 150 grain eld-x in their 7mm-08. I saw in the newest Hodgdon Manual that the StaBal 6.5 they are getting 3200 fps with that bullet. Better choices would be H414, or Alliant Power Pro 2000, or one of the 4350's. You'll get better case fill, and higher velocities. When manual says "most accurate powder tested" it really means nothing to us.

get well soon The burn rate charts show Superformance to be slower than the 4831's. That's going to be too slow for the 7mm-08. Wonder how long it going to take for experimenters to work up loads for this powder. A high level hobbyist with pressure testing and chrono capacity should be able to handle the task.As usual, with any reloading data, the components and charge weights used here were safe in the rifles they were tested in, and any change of components could result in dangerous pressure. I have a solid load for 140 gr Nosler Partitions, Accubond and Sierra Game Kings: 45.6 grs I-4350, CCI BR-2 Primers and Lapua Brass.
