Nv4500 bellhousing chevy
looks like an older cast iron bellhousing. but it also looks like someone cut the starter mount off of it. Most of them that I have seen, the starter can bolt to the bellhousing. They had a two piece inspection cover.one made up the bottom of the bellhousing, and then one parrallel to the mounting surface.I know the NV4500 can be redrilled to fit the SM465 bellhousing to retain the factory clutch system. MY book says 74 lbs. Seems awfully high I'm thinking should be about 30 something. What are the torque specs for the 4 transmission to bell housing bolts? Whatever my book said sounded low They are M12x1.75. The only torque that was consistent was 30 LBS for the transmission to transfer case bolts.
