Stop leak transfer case
I have a leak on my transfer case. Started leaking at same time SYE drive shaft seal started leaking (kid drove the TJ so I suppose he smacked something hard). The O-ring was munched when I removed and replaced the 1st time. I replaced the O-ring three times. Forgive me if this has been covered but I only have about an hour left of daylight so if you have a suggestion please chime in. Heres the story... My transfer case works fine but was leaking from where the whole case splits in the middle.You would be able to use either the BlueDevil Oil Stop Leak or the BlueDevil Transmission Sealer for your transfer case leak. The Oil Stop Leak is a universal application and would treat any rubber seal/gasket. Either way, you will be using one oz. of the product per quart of fluid in the system.

The seal was replaced, and the output shaft bearings do not seem to have any play in them, but still this leak persists, and it is not pump rub.The transfer case in my 2017 PF has failed. The dealer did not give me any details but I have been waiting on a new one for almost 2.5 weeks now. Support transfer case with jack, slide transfer case towards the rear and it will slide right out. Use pry tool to remove seal from rear of tranny. Use a flat cylindrical object to bang new seal gently in. TQ converter seal- You will need to unbolt the 4-5 bolts from the front of the TQ converter. This will give you the seal holder.When I had my u joints replaced the seal started leaking. I went through 4 seals in a month trying to get it to stop and there was a tiny burr on the transfer case where the metal would cut the seal. Use a cotton ball to wipe the inside of the transfer case to see if that is the problem. Most of the leaking was coming from the access plate, I was able to drain the fluid and change that gasket with no issue. There is also a small amount of fluid leaking from the rear cover and shims.

Luckily the dealer knows the "trick" to drop the case without the trans/engine and kept labour down. Total bill was still $2500 for parts/labour/etc, but much lower than it could have been. If its leaking between transfer case and transmission, thats the adapter portion. You might want to take a mirror and look at the top side, where it bolts to. To make sure there is no fluid on top, because the transmission case can crack there, and/or the bolts could be loose.
